One of Second Life's early Steampunk legendary artistic sims was Mr. Sextan Shepard's Nemo Trilogy sim. His 2010 sim was astounding, drawing inspiration from Nikola Tesla, William Crookes, Thomas Edison, Gustave Eiffel, and Hector Guimard, as well as Steampunk media, such as Steamboy, or The Illusionist.
Many of the graphics and ambient sounds taken from granted today can be seen in one form or another in the Nemo sim. Additionally, as he designed his own unique textures, which can be seen throughout his works.
As part of his inspiration, he titled the sim as a "Trilogy", with sections representing the natural elements of earth, water, and air. I actually had the opportunity to visit it briefly, but as impermeant as Second Life was/is, the sim disappeared after eighty (80) days.
To the best of my knowledge, Nemo was supposed to be moved to a newer sim, but alas, it appears to have disappeared, along with Mr. Shepard. A wonderful sim, and one can hope Mr. Sextan Shepard will return someday, and remake Nemo for an encore performance!
