What is the Steampunk Travelogue about?  To quote my original preface to the original version of the blog...

"The Steampunk Travelogue is a travel guide to existing (and defunct) Steampunk and Neo-Victorian locations and destinations.  I'll be expounding on existing and past Steampunk locales from virtual worlds, on average about one a month, but do take moment to explore the archives of the history of virtual Steampunk and Neo-Victoriana.

One additional note - the photos listed are [a] historical update of these sims/worlds, past and present.  If they are in color, they still exist.  If they are sepia-toned, that means they have passed on and are only a memory to those who visited and an entry into the history of virtual Steampunk."

This blog is an revitalized version of my original travels through the Steampunk, Victorian, and Gothic realms of Second Life.  I've always found the "world we will never exist within" to be intriguing.  That being said, I had a good amount of experience in Second Life, as I was the author of an older blog known as the Steampunk Tribune, which was somewhat popular from the early '07 to the mid '13 in both SL and RL Steampunk circles.

However, due to multiple issues (both SL and RL), I walked away from my online endeavor to attend to pressing real life considerations.  Now (as of 2023), over a decade later, I decided to return to simply address the original purpose of my old blog... to document and highlight the amazing work taking place in SL regarding the genre(s).  As always, starting slow, but with a bit of work I'll bring the Travelogue to where I'd like to see it at - a useful and perhaps entertaining guide to Steampunk in SL.

*The original version of the Steampunk Travelogue dated back to 2011, as an alternate to my main Steampunk blog at the time.  Thus, I will take the conceit of "continuing" to the blog, from "way back" in 2011!  I do hope this small corner of the internet is useful, and I will continue documenting my virtual travels in the Steam realms of Second Life.  My thanks, and I do hope you choose to return again!
